Within 72 hours, the State of Qatar built a field medical isolation hospital as part of its proactive plans and precautionary measures, as part of the precautionary measures it is taking to combat and respond to the emerging corona virus (Covid-19), with a record speed indicating the advanced level achieved by health care standards in Qatar.

The hospital - located in Umm Salal area (north of Doha) - was implemented by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) at the request of the Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and equipped it in record time and with international standards for use when needed.

The field isolation hospital includes three thousand beds in its first stage, and the remaining works are being completed to reach the capacity of eight thousand five hundred beds as a hospital for medical isolation, thus becoming this complex and the medical isolation hospital in Umm Salal region operating with a total capacity of 12 thousand five hundred beds.

The engineer, Fatima Al-Meer, from the Buildings Projects Department at the Public Works Authority, considered that the completion of this large project in record time and with the required standards was made thanks to the distinguished cooperation and effective contributions from the private sector from local contractors and suppliers.

The hospital includes a multi-use hall, which can accommodate about six hundred people, with different activities and some sports and iPad devices. It also has a dining hall that accommodates about nine hundred people, as it was equipped in an appropriate manner that maintains the availability of a safe distance for the social spacing in the distribution of seats and tables, according to the mir. .

The first phase of the field isolation hospital includes two areas: the first is the isolation zone, and it consists of six large tents, which include three thousand beds, and 220 toilets. The second is the service area, and it consists of two large tents, one for food, the second is multi-use and equipped with gyms and a hall for electronic games, along with ten small tents dedicated to running the administration.

The second phase of the field isolation hospital, which is being completed, will provide about three thousand beds, and the third phase will provide about 2500 beds, in addition to other facilities.

And the field isolation hospital - next to the quarantine complex in Umm Salal region - will contribute greatly to increasing the capacity of patients in case they are needed, especially in light of providing it with all the necessary amenities, safety, entertainment and health requirements.
