Harvey Weinstein was indicted Friday for a third sexual assault case in a case being put up by Los Angeles prosecutors against the ex-Hollywood mogul.

"We are continuing to build and strengthen our case," said Los Angeles attorney Jackie Lacey.

The deposed producer, already imprisoned in New York State after being convicted of sexual assault and rape, must answer three charges of sexual assault before the Californian courts, the office of the prosecutor said on Friday. Los Angeles.

Mr. Weinstein is charged with sexually assaulting a woman who remained anonymous in Beverly Hills in May 2010.

This new sexual assault charge, released on Friday, is in addition to two charges announced in January.

He was previously charged with breaking into a woman's hotel room to rape her on February 18, 2013, and then assaulting another woman the next day in a Beverly Hills hotel room.

Mr. Weinstein denies the facts and assures that all of these relationships were agreed.

"If we find new evidence of crimes that were not known, as was the case here, we will investigate and determine if further charges are necessary," added Ms. Lacey.

It is not known when the trial will start, but the prosecutor's office confirmed on Friday that it had launched a transfer request for Mr. Weinstein.

"Upon arrival, he will be charged (...) Once the trial date has been set, the public will be informed," said the press release.

In this case, Harvey Weinstein faces up to 29 years in prison.

Nearly 90 women have, to date, publicly accused Harvey Weinstein of harassment, sexual assault or rape. Most of the alleged facts are time-barred.
