"Emirates Today" has monitored text messages sent from hairdressing salons and beauty centers to customers through the WhatsApp application, in which it discloses the possibility of requesting a barber service, or a hairdresser, to their homes, after sending the address of those who wish to "get the service" via The application itself.

And spread the phenomenon under the name "hairdresser" for men and hairdresser "delivery" for women, after the decision to close salons and beauty centers, in order to prevent, to combat the virus "Corona".

Two doctors warned of the danger of the virus moving into homes if the barber or hairdresser went to it, pointing to the increased risk of infection if they mix with more than one customer.

A lawyer also warned that "this type of offer is considered a violation of the state’s decisions, and it is considered incitement not to violate the laws, or to improve something that is considered a crime."

In detail, the infectious and immunology pathologist and director of the Medical Care Laboratory, Dr. Jihad Saadeh, stressed the risk of transmission of the Corona virus in the event that preventive measures from the virus were not used, including wearing masks and gloves for workers and customers.

He added that close breathing and talking to clients without muzzles increase the possibility of injury.

He explained that «the customer who is infected with the virus is obliged to remove the mask to shave his beard, as the customer is forced to take off her mask to beautify her face, and this may lead to infection of the barber or the hairdresser with the virus, and transfer it to their colleagues, or to other customers».

He pointed out that «the virus may be transmitted through the air through the use of a barber or an infected hairdresser (hair dryer), which facilitates its transmission to the customer directly».

For her part, the general doctor, Mariam Al-Hammadi, said that the laws imposed by the state are necessary to confront the threat of the spread of the Corona virus.

And she warned that ignoring the laws and procedures followed will be followed by negative results, noting that the methods of transmission make men's barbershops and women's beauty centers a field for capturing and spreading the virus, due to the narrow distances required between the barber and the customer that the shaving process requires, even if wearing gloves and protective masks. As well as using the same razors with different customers.

She pointed out that bringing barbers to homes is considered a risk to the health of the whole family, as it is not possible to know the number of people who were mixed with the barber before he came to the customer's house, nor is it possible to know whether the barber is infected with the virus or not.

She emphasized that the greatest danger lies in the tools that barbers use in shaving for customers, as most of them do not change, such as a shaver and a comb, and that sterilization does not guarantee their complete cleanliness, as it travels at a speed unimaginable for a person.

She added that such behaviors may cause the transmission of infection from the barber to the father, and from him to the family, and it is difficult in this case to diagnose those injured because of their contact with the barber confidentially.

For her part, the lawyer, Hanan Al-Bayed, indicated that the decision to close men's and women's salons to prevent Corona virus does not mean going to customer homes to perform shaving for men and beautifying women.

She noted that any violation of the laws will lead to the application of the law on communicable diseases and the list of penalties issued by the state attorney general and the Federal Penal Code, to violate any person who intentionally commits a crime against the law.

She explained that the work of men and women salons to go to the homes of clients, is contrary to the Federal Penal Code, because they are putting themselves and others at risk.

Customers are also subject to legal accountability, to endanger their lives, to incite and violate state law.

She added that Article (197) of the Federal Penal Code stipulates that anyone who incites others not to violate the laws, or improves an order that is a crime, shall be punished with imprisonment and a fine of no less than 100,000 dirhams and not more than 500,000 dirhams.

And she added that Article (348) of the law states that he shall be punished with imprisonment and a fine or one of the two penalties for whoever intentionally commits an act that endangers the life, health, security, or liberties of people.

Underestimating the procedures

The municipalities of Fujairah and Dibba Al-Fujairah have confirmed that they will deal firmly with violators of the decision to close men's salons and women's beauty centers, which promote the provision of their services during the period of national sterilization.

They explained that ignoring the closure decision implied a sense of lack of responsibility, and a disregard for the procedures followed for community safety and public health.

- Imprisonment and a fine not exceeding 500 thousand dirhams, the penalty for incitement to violate the law.

- Any violation of the laws will lead to the application of the Communicable Diseases Law and the Penal Code.
