As the air quality in India improved after the national blockade was launched, residents of northern Punjab admired the sights of the Himalayas, over 160 km away.

According to CNN Broadcasting and Social Network Service (SNS), residents of the Punjab community have posted on Twitter a series of articles such as "I can see the Himalayan Mountains with my bare eyes in almost 30 years."

The Himalayan Mountains span India, Pakistan, Bhutan and China as well as Nepal.

In India, the Himalayan Mountains pass through the northern Himachal Pradesh.

The residents of Punjab were neighboring Himachal Pradesh, but because of the usual smog, they couldn't see the Himalayan mountain range, and the air quality improved, making it possible to see with the naked eye.

In particular, citizens of Jalandhar, the central city of Punjab, were impressed by posting their own Himalayan photos on social media.

One netizen even raised the impression that "nature is such a thing, but how ruined we are."

Air quality in northern India, which was notorious for serious smog, improved significantly as the Indian government issued a national blockade last month to combat Corona 19.

This is because contaminant emissions have been drastically reduced due to blockades of industrial facilities and vehicle operations.

CNN reported that the air quality index was 'good' for 16 of 17 days after the Jalandardo blockade.
