Philippine Minister of Health Du Kai said on TV: "Like other complementary medicine, our experts are studying how to use traditional Chinese medicine to fight new coronary pneumonia."

Recently, the Chinese anti-epidemic medical team arrived in the Philippines. Among the 12 Chinese experts, some of them specialize in critical care, respiratory infection prevention and treatment, and traditional Chinese medicine.

Du Kai said: "We expect them to be able to provide good advice, because they have experience in fighting new coronary pneumonia in their own country."

Du Kai said they also hope to learn critical care medicine from Chinese experts to help critically ill patients.

He pointed out that in addition to traditional medicine, the Philippines has participated in the World Health Organization ’s solidarity test, a multi-country study of four drugs and drug combinations, believed to be effective against new coronary pneumonia.
