Nebenzya called for the lifting of all sanctions outside the UN amid a pandemic

The text of Nebenzi’s speech is given on the website of the Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN.

“We urge everyone to lift multilateral or unilateral coercive measures and sanctions imposed bypassing the UN in relation to developing countries. We should not help someone with one hand, and harm with the other, ”the Russian Permanent Representative emphasized.

Nebenzya noted that in the face of the difficult challenges of the pandemic, "the time has come for solidarity not determined by any political agenda and preferences."

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev called for clearing relations of sanctions in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
