The former Minister of Justice and Ombudsman, Enrique Múgica, has died this Friday at 88 years of coronavirus, according to La Razón.

Born in San Sebastián in 1932 and a lawyer by profession, the jusrista and politician was Minister of Justice between 1988 and 1991 and Ombudsman between 2000 and 2010. He was a deputy for the PSOE between 1977 and 2000 and a member of the PSOE executive from 1967 .

In addition, he was appointed Ombudsman in June 2000, a position he held for ten years.

His brother Fernando was assassinated by ETA in 1996.
