Start the clip to see how nurse Anna Martin-Borgesand experiences the infection-intensive work at the Eastern Hospital.

On Thursday, the number of coronas-infected patients was up to 49 in Västra Götaland.

Here, at the Eastern Hospital, many of them are admitted. In order for intensive care of covid-19 to be relevant, it is necessary that the affected patient has difficulty in breathing, for example, without help. Life is at stake.

- They require an advanced oxygen treatment called optiflow, you see that they have difficulty breathing, says Anna Martin-Borgesand.

Included with high fever

The patients admitted to the ward vary in age. Sometimes there are two patients in the same room, and many are included and have high fever.

- I have been involved in the death of a patient here, says Anna Martin-Borgesand.

In the exceptional situation in which healthcare is now, high demands are placed on planning. Not least in order to save on protective equipment and other materials as much as possible while not taking any risks.

- Our challenge will be to cope with it, it requires a lot, extra passports and puzzles and that we stay healthy, says Lotta Koitrand, head of care unit at Infectious Disease ward 302 at the Eastern Hospital.

Don't worry

Anna and her colleagues themselves are not worried about being infected by Covid-19, despite caring for many patients on a daily basis who are ill.

- I'm more worried when sitting on the bus or tram and getting infected there. Here I do not feel the least bit worried about being infected.
