The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs of the Gaza government broadcast a short sermon Friday afternoon through its social media platforms, in light of the continued closure of the mosques in the Gaza Strip due to the Corona virus.

The ministry said - in a brief statement - that the recorded sermon was broadcast at the time of the usual Friday sermon, titled "The Guidance of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, if the calamity occurred."

She pointed out that the sermon was broadcast on the Ministry's social media platforms, on various social media pages, and on local satellite channels and radio stations.

The sermon - delivered by the preacher Wael Al-Zard - addressed messages addressed to citizens living in an emergency due to the dangers of the Coruna virus.

Al-Zardd called on the people of the Gaza Strip to abide by all the decisions issued by the official authorities, which are related to fighting Corona, to preserve personal safety and public health.

And at the end of last March, the government in Gaza announced the closure of all mosques, and the banning of all prayers inside them for a period of two weeks, renewed once, for fear of the dangers of corona infection.

As of Friday morning, Palestine had recorded 266 cases of corona, including 13 in the Gaza Strip, and the rest in the West Bank, according to official data.
