In Vimmerby, the business community has come together in an online e-shop where you can shop locally and have what you have bought delivered to your home. That initiative was highlighted by the Kamprads Foundation, which saw a chance to support two of Ingvar Kamprad's main heart issues.

Combat will

- Had Ingvar lived, the first thing he asked us on the board would have been: "What is your plan for alleviating the isolation for the elderly and for supporting the local companies?" We know after having been with the board for so many years that this is his will, ”says Lena Fritzén, executive board member.

Växjö and Eksjö municipality have been hooked on the initiative in Vimmerby and all three municipalities will, thanks to Kamprad money, be able to give municipal residents over 70 gift vouchers that can be used in the local e-shop. The idea is that all over 70 residents in the municipality should receive gift vouchers.

Pilot project

For this purpose, the Kamprad Foundation has donated SEK 500,000 each to the municipalities, but both the sums and the number of participating municipalities may be scaled up if the project is successful, says Lena Fritzén.

The idea is also that the three municipalities should be able to exchange experiences that can be shared with other municipalities who want to do the same.

- We are grateful for the contribution we receive from the Kamprad Family Foundation and for being selected as a pilot project. With the money from the foundation, we can give extra gold edge to the everyday for isolated elderly people and at the same time support the local business community, ”says Anna Tenje (M), chair of the local council in Växjö.
