The emergency center was notified on Friday of a backpack found in a large rail on Lake Pyhäselä in Joensuu.

In addition to a backpack, the rescue divers who went to the scene found a kick sled and an ice auger that had sunk to the bottom of the lake. The divers checked the proximity of the site where the objects were found, but the search did not find any people who may have sunk into the rail.

Police are asking for observations in connection with the case to make sure that the person who may have sunk into the rail has gotten up and safe from there or that someone is missing in connection with the case.

The more accurate place is on the northeast side of Iso Saunasaari.

Observations are requested to be reported to the emergency number 112 or by e-mail to vihjeet.ita-suomi@poliisi.fi.
