The first launch of the Soyuz 2.1a launch vehicle with the Soyuz MS-16 manned spacecraft to the International Space Station took place from Baikonur Cosmodrome. Earlier launches were carried out on Soyuz-FG with the Ukrainian management system. The ISS-63 crew includes Roscosmos cosmonauts Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Wagner and NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy. It is planned that the expedition will last 196 days.
