An air traffic controller saw smoke coming from the plane's engine at the start and soon after the plane lifted the crew discovered that the engine was losing power.

The pilot then tried to turn around to land but the plane quickly dropped altitude and hit the ground with violent force.

The left wing was broken off and the muzzle released from the aircraft body. According to the Accident Investigation Board, the accident was such that there was a high probability that someone could have died or been seriously injured in the accident.

Although the two people in the crew managed to recover, the incident is considered so serious that the Swedish Accident Investigation Board is now launching an investigation to investigate what happened.
