On May 2, 1945, a Soviet war correspondent, Yevgeny Chaldey, made a series of photographs on the roof of a dilapidated Nazi parliament, which later became known as the “Banner of Victory over the Reichstag."

To reconstruct this event, we used all available photos taken by Chaldea on the roof of the building taken by the Red Army, as well as more than 40 other images of the Reichstag and surrounding houses, panoramas and small architectural forms.
