At the meeting where IVO and Region Stockholm chief physicians were present, it was revealed that the inspection received information from several activities in the region where different criteria for intensive care must have been applied.

According to Elda Sparrelid, chief physician in the Stockholm region, the region has no patient data linked to the cases that the data for IVO are about. Therefore, they cannot investigate whether someone received the wrong care or not.

- It is those who have submitted tips to IVO who believe that patients should receive intensive care, but have not received it, says Elda Sparrelid.

Internal email about not having strict guidelines

An email that SVT took note of shows that the region has provided information to all the hospital's chief physicians, stating that "in a situation where we have 70 vacant IVA sites in the region, it is important that the criteria for intensive care are not too tight."

Elda Sparrelid says that the priorities for intensive care are those that usually prevail. For example, taking into account the patient's general medical condition and the possibility of coping with intensive care. One should not apply stricter criteria in a situation where there is enough intensive care facilities.

SVT has sought the Inspection for Care and Care.
