It is the West Jämtland snowmobile area, Väsek, which manages the approximately 70 kilometers of snowmobile trails in the western parts of Åre municipality. 12 miles goes over water. They mark the joints and test drills to check the thickness of the ice.

On Wednesday afternoon, they were out drilling on a snowmobile trail that runs across the lake, from Såå to the reindeer mountain:

- Here the ice is only 12 cm thick in some places and it is directly fatal, so we are closing this now, says Staffan Lindberg, president of Väsek,

Scooter drivers went through the ice

Last week, two snowmobile drivers passed through the ice on the Indalsälven at Undersåker. The drivers managed but the scooters dropped to the bottom. The scooters were pulled up from the lake this weekend.
