Iraqi President Barham Saleh announced on Thursday that he commissioned intelligence chief Mustafa al-Kazimi to form a government after former Najaf governor Adnan Zorfi resigned from office.

Kazimi, unlike Zorfi, has the support of almost all political parties. It was long seen as the tentacle of the United States in the country , until it approached Washington's sworn enemy, Iran, the main foreign actor currently present in Iraq.
