Almost all planned operations are canceled in Sörmland

Last week was the week when the largest proportion of surgeries was canceled as a result of the corona center.

17 planned surgeries were performed at Mälar Hospital and thirteen at Nyköping laser hospital. At Kullbergska Hospital not a single planned operation was performed, it shows figures from the Swedish perioperative register, SPOR, which SVT Nyheter has taken note of.

A compilation made by SVT shows that the number of planned operations has decreased by 63 percent in the country. In Sörmland, 83 percent fewer operations were performed, which is the largest reduction in the country.

- It coincides that Sörmland is very hard hit by covid-19, says the region's healthcare leader Magnus Johansson.

- We will have long queues going forward.
