Municipal Council: "Will have major consequences"

Last year's set of "Eddan" attracted 29,000 people to the Storyboard in Sunne.

For the municipality, it is a tough blow when it is clear that there will be no performances this summer.

- I feel great sadness. This strikes against hotels, restaurants, trade and the hospitality industry throughout Värmland, says Gunilla Ingemyr.

She points out that she has respect for the decision given the ongoing pandemic, but thinks it is difficult to overlook the consequences.

- Västanå is a magnet that draws people to the whole of Värmland from other parts of the country. Already it is tough, so we had hoped for this summer.

What does this mean for Sunne?

- There will be major consequences for employment, and in the long run, tax revenues for Sunne municipality will decrease, says Gunilla Ingemyr.
