The Public Health Authority (FHM) will collect anonymized and aggregated data from Telia's mobile telephone network for Swedish customers. It is to study how movements in the population are linked to the spread of covid-19.

The data can also be used as a basis for deciding on possible measures and to evaluate the effect of measures already taken, such as recommendations on keeping distances and avoiding unnecessary travel, FHM writes on its website.

The public health authority will gain access to the information through an adaptation of a commercial service already offered by Telia.

Corona app in progress

SVT News has reportedly been planning a research project for a Swedish corona app for some time now.

Several EU countries have their own variants in progress. Germany is expected to launch after Easter. In Norway, they are "99% done" and are just waiting for the Norwegian government to launch the app broadly for as many Norwegians as possible to download it.

- Clearly, many people need to download it in order to have a positive effect. The challenge is that the Norwegians trust that it will not be abused, says Kyrre Lekve, Deputy CEO of the State Simula Research Laboratory to SVT.

The public health authority referred to the MSB on Sunday, but admitted "cooperation is ongoing on this with relevant actors, we will soon be able to tell you more".
