The decision to cancel this summer's performances and move the set of Selma Lagerlöfs "The Driver" to the summer of 2021 has been preceded by great anguish.

- It was a difficult decision to make, but we feel compelled, both for the sake of the audience and the staff, and to ensure the survival of the theater, says Leif Stinnerbom

The theater will now short-term staff and the business will go down to a low flame.

- More measures will be needed. My ambition is to keep the deficit as small as possible so that we can manage to enter a new summer in the Storytelling in just over a year.

Hard blow to the hospitality industry

Every summer, Västanå theater's performances attract up to 30,000 visitors to Sunne. Leif Stinnerbom is now worried about how the set performances will affect the countryside.

- Yes, I am really worried about housing facilities, restaurants and shops. This strikes hard not only against us but against the hospitality industry, not only in Sunne but throughout Värmland.
