It is unknown how the person was infected but infection tracking has begun and it is investigated whether other residents or staff at the accommodation can be infected. The caregiver is judged to be severely ill but not in need of hospital care and is now cared for in isolation in his apartment.
"Right now we are doing everything we can to prevent more caregivers from being infected," says Carina Yngvesson, a medically responsible nurse in Växjö municipality.
