The Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety issued Circular No. (5) for the year 2020, regarding the regulation of the work of establishments within the fish markets in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in line with government measures and efforts to prevent the new Corona virus (Covid-19) and prevent its spread, to provide a healthy and safe environment for consumers, and to continue For its efforts to enhance the precautionary measures aimed at achieving the highest levels of health and safety for the community in coordination and cooperation with the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, the Department of Municipalities and Transport and its affiliates and the Abu Dhabi Fishermen Cooperative Society.

The circular includes a set of preventive measures and measures through which the authority aims to reduce congestion in all fish markets in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and maintain social divergence to raise the health level of its employees and users, in addition to organizing its work in these exceptional circumstances to ensure the continuity of providing its services to the public in a safe and correct manner, Where the authority determined the entry of consumers to fish markets in two periods, a morning period starting from 09:00 am to 12:30 pm, and the evening period from 05:30 pm to 07:30 pm.
The Authority also determined the carrying capacity of each market and the maximum number of consumers according to the number of shelters in it, at the rate of one consumer per two shelters, so the market that contains 30 shelters will allow 15 consumers to enter at the same time as a maximum, provided that the shopping trip does not exceed 15 minutes for purchase And exit from the market and then allow another group to enter, in addition to emphasizing these facilities the need to adhere to the safety and protection procedures during the delivery of requests for homes and commercial establishments, and to provide an appropriate mechanism to reserve purchase dates and enter the market to avoid congestion in the waiting area.
With regard to fish auctions, the authority affirmed that auctions will be allowed from 06:30 in the morning to 09:00 in the morning, and to prevent collective auctions to be limited only to individual roads, in addition to isolating the auctions site in a location far away from consumers so that only the presence of fish merchants and the seller And the indication, taking into account the commitment of all those present to the preventive measures in terms of safe spacing, provided that it is not less than (1.5 meters) between people, putting masks and wearing gloves.
Through the circular, the authority obligated the management of these markets to implement extensive precautionary measures, such as tightening control over the entry and exit gates of fish markets in coordination with police patrols in an appropriate manner to prevent consumers from entering randomly, and to prevent people who do not wear masks, while providing devices to measure temperature for visitors before entering and preventing Entering any visitor with a temperature greater than 37.5 degrees, providing gloves for visitors before entering, in addition to putting sterilization materials at the entrance and exit gate and obliging all visitors to sterilize upon entry and exit.
The authority also stressed the necessity of providing an effective sterilization program for the market and utilities on a daily basis using the approved materials before and after each sale period (morning and evening) to ensure the health and safety of people, and the commitment of all workers in the countryside to the health requirements of the activity of selling and trading fish and preventive measures by wearing masks and gloves during all Working hours, preventing the visitor from touching the products, organizing the waiting time and preparing the consumers when cleaning the fish and observing a distance of no less than (1.5 meters) between people, in addition to providing adequate ventilation in the market and facilities to ensure clean air entering the site.
The Authority supervises to ensure the implementation of these procedures within the establishments located in these markets and the commitment of the owners of the shop to implement them, while the teams of the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police and the Department of Municipalities and Transport and its affiliated bodies undertake the task of preventing congestion and gatherings outside these markets, and the Market Administration is responsible for organizing the entry and exit of consumers from Markets according to the regulations that were generalized, and in a manner that guarantees the achievement of social divergence between shoppers and market workers.
