The permanent commission of the State School Council has rejected this Tuesday the proposal to suppress the repetitions of this course as an "exceptional" measure in the face of the suspension of classroom classes due to the coronavirus pandemic, sources from this advisory body have informed Europa Press.

The proposal had been presented by the CANAE State Confederation of Student Associations , and requested "to modify the necessary regulations on an exceptional basis so that during this course no student repeats the course".

However, the permanent commission of the State School Council has given its approval to the recommendation proposed by its president, Enrique Roca, to limit the repetition of this course as something "really extraordinary" in the face of the "special circumstances of the pandemic".

In total, the unions of education, employers, organizations of mothers and fathers of students and students had presented almost a hundred amendments to a draft written by Catholic Schools and Council technicians that this Tuesday was being voted on. The approved document finally includes some of these proposals, which will be sent to the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, although they are not binding.

The ministry led by Isabel Celaá will receive these suggestions before the telematic meeting of the General Commission on Education, which this Wednesday will be chaired by the Secretary of State for Education, Alejandro Tiana, and in which the vice-councilors of all the autonomous communities will participate.

This meeting precedes a new meeting of the Sectoral Conference on Education, with the Minister Isabel Celaá and the regional leaders, next Wednesday, April 15, where they will jointly address the closure of the school year and the options to evaluate students this year if they containment measures are prolonged to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

Among the recommendations that the State School Council transfers is not to extend the academic calendar during the month of July. The permanent commission has rejected this possibility, and chooses to rush June to conclude the 2019-2020 academic year.

The advisory body that includes representatives of the entire educational community has also rejected the proposal of the CSIF union so that the entrance exams to the university, the former Selectividad, have a unique date in the whole of Spain.

The Ministry of Education and the autonomous communities agreed two weeks ago to hold the so-called Baccalaureate Test for University Access (EBAU) between June 22 and July 10, after postponing the test after the declaration of the State of Alarm. Most communities, moreover, have already established the exam schedule.

The State School Council also recommends that the tasks that students are doing at home during confinement be evaluable, although an amendment submitted by CCOO to take into account the "technological and connectivity conditions" in the homes of each has been accepted. student, so that the "digital divide" is not a reason for "the negative evaluation of learning and skills."
