So far, 591 people in Sweden have died as a result of covid-19 and 7,693 people have been confirmed sick. Fewer people are receiving intensive care, which state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell stated as a good sign during today's press conference. On the other hand, he felt urged to emphasize the importance of distance being maintained even on outdoor seating. A responsibility that lies both with the traders and the individuals themselves.

"We remind you of the rules for congestion on outdoor restaurants and bars," he said during the press conference, stressing that this also applies when sitting outdoors "which not everyone seems to have perceived."

Reduction in the number of new cases

Of the 7,700 confirmed cases, 640 have been treated at IVA at some time.

- As you can see, we have had a reduction for three or four days. The first days were at the weekend and we are used to it decreasing then, but then jumping up again.

He points out that a certain backlog of the figures means that one can expect a certain increase.

"But at least it looks good that the case over the weekend was bigger than before and now remains at a decent level," Tegnell said, adding:

- If the downturn we are seeing now means that we have reached some kind of peak, I leave it unsaid. But it is still important that we keep these measures, not least now during Easter.

937 available IVA sites

Taha Alexandersson, Deputy Emergency Response Manager at the National Board of Health and Welfare, reported that the number of available IVA seats in the country yesterday afternoon was 937.

-It corresponds to an 80 percent increase in capacity at available IVA sites in the country. At present, about 20 percent of them are uncoated. 55 percent of IVA plastics are used to care for other critically ill patients who do not have covid-19, Taha Alexandersson said during the press conference.

Increased cut for the deceased

591 people have died as a result of the coronavirus, of which 114 have been added to the statistics since Monday. On average, there are about 40 deceased per day.

"This means that the average has increased somewhat since yesterday," Anders Tegnell said.
