According to reports, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government of Japan plans to take measures such as restricting operations on certain facilities and venues according to industry types after the Japanese government issued an emergency declaration, including Internet cafes.

According to a 2016 survey by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, at that time, about 4,000 people used Internet cafes as their homes every day. Once the ban on business places such as Internet cafes takes effect, it means that there will be a large number of homeless people.

In response to this situation, some social welfare groups in Japan have begun to ask the government to provide assistance to this group of people in life. A social welfare officer named Sato Sato expressed the hope that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will support people who have lived in Internet cafes for a long time and those who use Internet cafes as temporary shelters due to violence or abuse.

At present, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is considering adding a budget amendment of 1.2 billion yen, and intends to provide temporary housing for this group of people to overcome the difficulties.
