A ban on visits to the Ramundergården in Laxå has been in effect for almost three weeks. But now the staff has come in a way that they hope to break the isolation of the elderly in the housing.

At the accommodation, you have now purchased tablets that will be used to call the relatives of the residents via video calls. This is so that the elderly can continue to have contact with their immediate family, during the ongoing pandemic.

- It has taken some time to get the technology up, but the first call seems to be working, so now we look forward to more relatives hearing and so we can try to help with these conversations, says Henrik Westling Head of Unit at Ramundergårnden in Laxå.

The technique of video calling has also been tested at an elderly home in Lekeberg Municipality.

In the clip you can see how Olof Nilsson can see and talk to his mother for the first time since the visitor ban was introduced.
