"We have made it possible with President David Sassoli that the European Parliament make its Strasbourg buildings, the time of the crisis, a Covid-19 screening center and consultation center," said the Secretary of State for European Affairs Amélie de Montchalin at DNA. This "should take shape in the coming days" in connection with the Bas-Rhin prefecture and the city of Strasbourg, she added.

The President of the European Parliament, the Italian David Sassoli, said on Thursday that he had "made available to the Brussels authorities our own patient care center and a fleet of 100 vehicles", and that he was "ready to do the same for our centers in Luxembourg and Strasbourg if they need it ”.

The last two plenaries took place in Brussels

If the parliamentary work is done for a lot in Brussels, the seat of the European Parliament, registered in the treaties of the EU, is located in Strasbourg, but the parliamentarians are there only for their plenary sessions, one week per month. Those of March and April did not exceptionally take place in Strasbourg due to the epidemic of coronavirus, which particularly affects Alsace.
