Declaration of Emergency The Diet will immediately postpone deliberation at 18:51 on April 7

Following the rapid spread of the new coronavirus infection in urban areas, the National Assembly has decided to suspend deliberations on the 7th and 8th while the Declaration of Emergency was issued.

The Liberal Democratic Party's chairman of the Moriyama Diet and the Constitutional Democratic Party's chairman of the Azuma Diet held a meeting in the afternoon of the 7th to discuss the operation of the Diet after the "Emergency Declaration" was issued. On the 7th and 8th, the two members of the House of Representatives deferred the deliberations, and agreed to resume this week on the 10th.

Mr. Azumi also called for postponement of bills that do not need to be rushed, and will continue to consult.

Mr. Moriyama told reporters, "In the first place, the government is narrowing down and submitting only bills that need to be passed quickly. Even though there is still a session of the Diet, we are not thinking of narrowing down bills, we aim for passage." I said.

On the other hand, Mr. Azumi said, "Let's postpone deliberation on non-urgent bills. The committee hopes to be able to depart from attendees while taking care to satisfy quorum."
