France passed the symbolic mark of 10,000 deaths since Tuesday since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, which "continues to progress" said Tuesday April 7, the Director General of Health.

Since the beginning of March, 7,091 deaths have been recorded in hospitals, or 607 more in 24 hours, the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic, and 3,237 in nursing homes and medico-social establishments, for a total of 10,328 dead, said Jérôme Salomon in a daily update.

Thirty thousand people are currently hospitalized for Covid-19 infection in more than a thousand hospitals, and the number of severe cases in intensive care is 7,131, including 518 in the last 24 hours.
