A person in his 80s, with underlying illnesses, passed away on Monday. The person is the first in Västerbotten to have died as a result of the new corona virus.
"Our thoughts go to the person's family and friends," says Gunilla Persson, acting infection prevention physician in the Västerbotten Region in a press release.
It is often older with other underlying diseases that get the sickest by covid-19.
- It is important that we do everything we can to protect these groups from being infected. Take care of each other, especially the elderly, and avoid physical visits and trips. Instead, make the call you have long intended to make or join a video call, if possible, says Gunilla Persson.
