A meeting requested for several days
Last Thursday, exasperated by divisions between China and the United States, among other things, paralyzing the proceedings, nine out of ten non-permanent members formally demanded a Council session on Covid-19 with a statement by the UN Secretary General , Antonio Guterres.
Over 73,000 dead worldwide
The new coronavirus pandemic has killed 73,139 people worldwide, nearly three-quarters of them in Europe (52,498), according to a report compiled by AFP from official sources Monday at 7 p.m. GMT.
