Most clearly, they notice how different authorities, as a result of the spread of covid-19, are forced to set up home visits in households where the concern has been reported. Custody negotiations or decisions on a ban on visits are also affected.

- The first thing we see is that investigations and decisions from the social services and other authorities are postponed or suspended. This means that women and children are allowed to continue living in uncertainty, says Pernilla at the women's health club in Kalmar.

"Women over 70 are also exposed"

At the women's fair Märta, operating in Markaryd, Älmhult and Ljungby, no major change in the business due to the spread of the corona virus has not been noticed, but there is a concern that the situation may be aggravated for vulnerable women.

- I think violence will increase, especially as it becomes more difficult for vulnerable women to leave home if they are forcibly insulated. For even women over 70 are exposed to this, says Kerstin Lenander at the women's fair Märta.

At the same time, the corona pandemic has many indirect consequences that make the situation worse for vulnerable women, ”says Kerstin Lenander.

- Some women's ability to support themselves becomes more difficult now, with all the notice. This makes it even more difficult for vulnerable women to take control of their own lives, where financial violence is part of the problem.

Neighbors are urged to pay attention

Pernilla at the women's shelter in Kalmar urges people who are now spending more and more time at home to pay extra attention to what is happening in the neighborhood or in the staircase.

- You have an incredibly big responsibility as a fellow human being, you have to be vigilant if you hear something that sounds suspicious. Then you can tap and check the situation, if you do not want to do it yourself, you can call the police. Likewise if you feel worried about any friend, colleague or employee who now needs to work from home, she says.
