Amina Al-Abdouli, an Emirati detainee of conscience, held in state prisons, called on Amnesty International (Amnesty) and human rights organizations to intervene to release her and the rest of the detainees, especially in light of the spread of the Corona virus.

Amina confirmed - in a leaked audio recording her "We are recording" account on Twitter - that she entered a hunger strike to protest against the violations she was exposed to.

In the summer of 2018, the International Center for Justice and Human Rights published a leak of Amina who recounted some of the violations she was exposed to in the State Security prison.

At the time, she said, she was subjected to torture by her jailers, as she was being investigated in the evening, which resulted in her right eye injury and warp in the lower jaw, noting that she was denied treatment despite being asked more than once.

She also indicated that her health condition decreased due to the hunger strike, and confirmed that the doctor threatened her to put poison in the feeder.

In the same video, the Emirati prisoner of conscience reported that she was insulted by investigators and demoralized about her children.

Amina's new leak comes in light of reports of other detainees of opinion in the Emirates prisons being subjected to abuses including ill-treatment and denial of legal rights.

Last year, Amnesty said that the prisoner of conscience Ahmed Mansour had gone on hunger strike for several weeks in protest at his prison conditions.
