In four days, 850 applications came to the municipality and then the application was temporarily closed. Around 250 of these were interested in working in elderly care, but the need is greater than that. Therefore, it was reopened last Friday.

Now the first fast training courses are underway, where the participants in three days become a care assistant, the same training that summer vacations otherwise receive. The hope from the municipality is that those who now move in will want to continue when the need is great. Most are offered an hourly position and some are offered temporary employment.

In the clip, Gabriella Kylén, unit manager at the home care administration, tells us about the job and what to learn.
