05 April 2020 "We need massive investments, a Marshall plan for Europe. There should be a strong and new European budget at the center": the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said in a contribution on the German newspaper Die Welt.

"The EU budget is accepted by all member states as an instrument of solidarity compensation and modernization," writes von der Leyen. "Thanks to its 7-year validity, it guarantees investment planning security and reliability for all contractors," says the president.
