UEFA has lifted the ban on broadcasting English and Scottish first division matches which start at 3 p.m. local time for the rest of the season, if it resumes after the end of the coronavirus pandemic .

The UEFA decision could be a sign in favor of a resumption of national football competitions in Great Britain behind closed doors.

UEFA has lifted the ban on broadcasting during these "blocked hours" for the English Premier League and the Scottish Championship, "for the rest of the 2019/20 football season, after requests from the relevant national associations and to following the measures taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, "the European body announced in a statement.

The ban on retransmitting afternoon matches in Great Britain has existed for a long time, so as not to dissuade spectators from going to the stadium for these daytime matches which are a tradition in England. It would no longer be necessary to be in camera.
