The Central Election Commission decided today (4th) to stop the 4/15 general elections abroad in 3 overseas diplomatic missions in 3 countries in response to the spread of coronavirus infection-19 (corona19).

The National Election Commission said it will suspend three overseas missions in three countries, including the Embassy of Tunisia, the Embassy of Guatemala and the Embassy of Mexico, by the 6th.

The NEC said to these missions that "determination of the overseas elections during the referendum has been decided to prevent the contagion of the electoral population as overseas residents who have contacted a large number of local residents have been confirmed by corona19."

The total number of overseas elections in three places is 909.

However, the overseas elections of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bulgaria will be resumed, and it is expected that a referendum will be available in this area.

Overseas elections have been suspended until now, including 93 consulates in 57 countries, including the Consulate General of Zuhan in China, the Consulate General of New York in the United States, the Consulate General of Los Angeles, and the Consulate General of Frankfurt in Germany.

Overseas elections in these regions are 8,871, or 51.2% of the total number of overseas elections (17,959).
