“Yesterday, our diplomats came up with an initiative to raise funds in an overseas institution to support people in need ... Our money, even if not large, will be used to pay for hotels and necessities for the most needy compatriots,” he said.
The ambassador also added that diplomats are actively advising citizens on the assistance provided to them by Russia.
Earlier, the Russian government established a procedure for assisting Russians who are in other countries and cannot return to their homeland because of the pandemic.
April 4, Antonov said that in the United States there are more than 2 thousand Russians who want to return to their homeland.
