The American Think Tank Asia Society Center for Sino-American Relations and the University of California San Diego 21st Century China Research Center jointly issued a statement entitled "Saving Life from the United States, China, and the World." The statement was jointly supported by 93 former senior US government officials, experts and scholars.

The statement stated that if the United States and China do not cooperate, they will not succeed in fighting the epidemic either within the United States or globally. The statement mentions that Chinese factories can produce protective materials and medicines to combat the epidemic, Chinese medical personnel can share valuable clinical experience, and scientists from the two countries can cooperate to develop relevant vaccines.

The statement believes that the U.S. can build a global framework for coping with the epidemic through platforms such as the G20, allowing China to share data with other countries, compare the best treatment options, establish a production and distribution mechanism for medical supplies, and work on vaccines and Coordinate funding and clinical trials in the development, production, and distribution of therapies.

The statement said that the United States and China have realized the importance of this moment and have taken some preliminary measures together.
