In Spain, the head of government announced the extension of the confinement until April 25. Authorities say the measure is starting to produce results, but the country remains severely affected by the coronavirus.

The head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, announced on Saturday the extension for two weeks of confinement in his country "until April 25" inclusive, in order to curb the covid-19 pandemic. Containment has been decreed in Spain since March 14.

"The Council of Ministers next Tuesday will again seek the authorization of the Chamber of Deputies to extend, for the second time, the state of alert", which made it possible to impose confinement of the strictest, "until to Saturday April 25 at midnight, "he said in a televised address.
