04 April 2020Interpol has raised an alarm on the rise in hacker attacks on hospitals committed against coronavirus, for the purpose of extortion.

The cybercrime team of the international police body has revealed a "significant increase in the number of attempts to attack key organizations and infrastructures involved in the response to viruses. Cybercriminals use ransomware to keep digital systems in hospitals and medical services blocked , preventing them from accessing vital files and systems until the payment of a ransom ", reads the website, which explains that a notice has been issued to this effect to the police bodies of the 194 member countries.
