As part of national solidarity with hospitals in tension, 18 new Covid-19 patients from the Grand-Est region will be transferred to hospitals in Occitania by Monday, announced the Regional Health Agency.

The first six patients were due to arrive on Saturday afternoon by helicopter and plane at the Nîmes-Garons terminal, before being admitted to hospital establishments in the Gard, including four at the Nîmes teaching hospital.

Six others will be welcomed Sunday in hospitals in the west of the region. The last six are expected Monday at the Montpellier University Hospital, said the ARS.

These patients are in addition to the first 18 patients transferred from the Grand-Est region between April 1 and 3 to the intensive care units of the Toulouse conurbation, Montauban and Cahors, as part of the Resilience operation conducted in link with the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
