The Supreme Council of State and the Libyan Representatives in Tripoli affirmed the continuing repulsion of the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter against the capital, Tripoli and its environs, on the anniversary of one year since its beginning, and the two councils accused - in a joint statement - Haftar forces of committing all kinds of war crimes, including killing, displacement and the destruction of infrastructure and institutions.

The two councils called upon the parties responsible for closing the production and export of oil to open it urgently, and take full legal responsibility for any repercussions the country may face in light of the crisis of the emergence of the emerging Corona virus.

The statement called on the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord and the Central Bank of Libya to open the credit system, with the priority being to import food commodities, medicines, medical supplies, cleaning materials and agricultural supplies.

For his part, member of the Presidential Council in Libya, Mohamed Ammari Zayed, criticized the role of the League of Arab States in the Libyan crisis, and its decision was dependent on the hands of limited, biased countries involved in the shedding of Libyan blood, as he put it.

Amari said - in a post on his Facebook page, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the start of the attack on Tripoli - that the forces of the reconciliation government are confronting an international regional project that Haftar is using as a tool for him, while Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Moscow and Paris are reaping the benefits.

Amari Zayed stressed that the Al-Wefaq government has the right to seek the assistance of its allies according to the interests of the country and to preserve national sovereignty, adding that the Libyan people will not forget the blood that was poured, and that their memory will record the crimes of Egypt, the Emirates, France and Russia in the country.

The Libyan National Accord government earlier Saturday called on the international community to pursue the countries supporting Haftar.

"We call on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities by pursuing countries that support war criminal Hifter and his terrorist militias, and to desist from ignoring his violations of laws and human rights, and to stop dealing with (this) the criminal as a legitimate party in a political conflict," government forces spokesman Mohamed Kanounou said in a statement. .

In this context, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya said that the Haftar forces ’attack on Tripoli resulted in a useless conflict, and dashed the hopes of many Libyans for a peaceful political transition.

The mission indicated - in a statement - the escalation of the conflict, to take the form of a dangerous proxy war that may not end, fueled by malicious external forces, according to its expression. She also criticized what she described as the intransigence of some countries in resupplying the parties to the conflict with weapons, considering that as a flagrant disregard for the decision to ban armaments.

The mission called on the parties to the conflict and external parties supporting them to respond to the calls of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to stop the war immediately, to appeal to the parties concerned to implement the humanitarian truce, and to stop all military operations, with the aim of allowing the Libyan authorities to address the threat of the Corona epidemic.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, said on Friday that there should be only one battle in the world today against the Corona virus, holding Hifter responsible for starting the war in Tripoli.

As of Saturday, Libya had recorded 17 cases of corona infection, one of which had recovered, and one case died on Thursday.

And Saturday agreed one year after the Haftar forces began their attack on the city of Tripoli, which brought the Libyan scene back to the circle of military conflict between the regional powers on Libyan soil, but the military equation has recently begun to change and tend to curb the government of reconciliation, after the Haftar forces retreated in several areas It includes East Misurata and Al-Wattia base (western Libya), in addition to the fighting axes south of Tripoli.
