President of the Fujairah Fishermen Association, Mahmoud Al-Shara, confirmed the registration of 30 citizens who volunteered to deliver fish to the homes of buyers in Fujairah, "which guarantees that there will be no gatherings at the fishermen’s tables designated for sale."

He added that the association launched a service to deliver fish to homes for a fee of 10 dirhams per request, after the decision to close fish markets, within the framework of the measures taken by the relevant authorities in the country to confront the risks of the spread of the "Covid 19" virus emerging.

Al-Sharaa explained that the association allocated 12 people in the first stage of launching the service, and coordinated with the relevant authorities to publish their phone numbers for those wishing to buy fish and deliver them to their homes, after selecting the types they wanted from them, and determining the required quantity, stressing the rejection of overpriced orders. He added that the orders reach all the eastern regions, including the nearby areas, which follow Sharjah (Khorfakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al-Hisn), pointing out that «the volume of orders increased during the past week, which caused delayed arrival to buyers, which caused 18 citizens to Apply to the association as volunteers to solve this problem, so that the total number now becomes 30 volunteers ».

Al-Sharaa confirmed the registration of between 100 and 120 requests for daily home delivery, stressing that all fish are local and fresh, and are sold at prices between 30 and 45 dirhams per kilogram as a maximum.

AED 10 home delivery service fee per order.
