03 April 20203.55 The World Health Organization urges Middle Eastern governments to take action to stop "the worrying surge in cases and deaths" related to coronavirus. This was stated by WHO director for the Eastern Mediterranean region, Ahmed Al-Mandhari. Except for Iran, where there are over 50,000 cases, the epidemic has been contained in the region. "We still have a window of opportunity," Al-Mandhari warned, but this window is slowly closing with each passing day.
