Three covid sufferers in elderly care in Örnsköldsvik

The three who have become ill do not need intensive care but receive care at their homes.

- It's serious, but we can handle it. For us, the lack of personnel and protective equipment is the major challenge, says Anna Sundberg (S), chair of the care committee in Örnsköldsvik municipality.

Just as elsewhere, it is also in Örnsköldsvik, acute shortage of protective equipment such as gloves, visors and protective coats in the elderly care.

In addition, 400 people working in the care sector are currently on sick leave.

- Nobody is confirmed sick in covid 19 by our staff, says Anna Sundberg.

She also says that there is fierce competition for protective equipment right now.

- We search with light and lantern for protective equipment ... contact other companies and investigate the market. We can do about a week with what we have right now, ”she says.
