“We literally today sent a petition addressed to the Prison Bureau and the head of the Danbury Prison in Connecticut for the release of Konstantin Yaroshenko,” TASS quoted the lawyer as Alexei Tarasov.

The defense notes that the Russian citizen in prison in the context of the coronavirus pandemic is dangerous, since Yaroshenko’s immune system is weakened.

According to Tarasov, if a Russian gets infected with COVID-19, "then the result will be disastrous."

Earlier it was reported that the Russian embassy appealed to the State Department to assist Yaroshenko.
