In a normal season, 150,000 tourists come to see the cranes at Trandansen in the southwestern part of the lake. The record in the number of cranes is 27,300 and it is from 2019. There are two tourist facilities on each side of the lake. Partly Naturum on the eastern side, which is more generally focused on the lake's different birds. Partly the Trandansen which is open the weeks before and after Easter when the cranes break here in the tens of thousands on their way to the north.

With the cranes, there usually come a crowd of tourists from, among others, Germany. The parking lot is usually full of motorhomes during the crane weeks. But foreign tourists fail this year and Swedes have been urged not to make unnecessary trips.

- It is not possible to close nature, but we do not want people to gather in large crowds right here, says Sofie Stålhand.
