The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that there are Swedes on board the plane, but does not state how many people are involved.

- We cannot comment on how many Swedes are on the flight, but may come back later, says Veronica Nordlund at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press release.

Nor can the Ministry of Foreign Affairs answer exactly how many Swedes are still in Peru, but hope to be able to assist as many as possible.

- We work continuously with several types of efforts in Peru and around the world to assist Swedes. We work closely with our colleagues and our vision is to assist all Swedes who need help, says Veronica Nordlund.

The Scandinavians have been stuck in Peru because of the travel restrictions imposed during the corona crisis. According to SAS, the trip was arranged in collaboration with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
